Senior Project Manager, Construction

As a Senior Project Manager, Construction at KBC, you will be responsible for executing complex real estate projects for a client portfolio. We’re looking for our next teammate who will leverage KBC’s platform and processes to lead projects within an assigned market(s) for our client. This role will provide direction and leadership to key stakeholders and account teams across KBC to deliver results and develop new opportunities for our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall success of assigned portfolio program and project activities.

Act as the primary senior-level contact with the client throughout the duration of the project.

Manage a wide range of construction projects from initiation to completion.

Develop and execute project-specific and client-driven goals, schedules, budgets, strategy and detailed assumptions with methodology for accomplishing and/or managing projects and objectives.

Recommend procurement strategies for various capital programs and projects.

Coordinate any necessary due diligence efforts on behalf of the internal team, project partners, clients and/or end users, maintaining and delivering all appropriate documentation.

Responsible for financial performance and impacts of programs and projects for client accounts including budget, forecasting and reporting; work with KBC finance team for timely billing, expense monitoring and spend forecasting on reoccurring cadence.

Develop a detailed project budget based on historical and market data and clearly defined set of budget assumptions.

Develop and maintain project schedules and manage successful execution within the intended timeframe.

Maintain team relationships by developing relationships with client, key stakeholders and KBC internal team members.

Collaborate across KBC platforms including transaction management, marketing, development and capital markets.

Provide leadership to project teams and act as internal link to teams reporting into central client Real Estate function.

Responsible for cross-selling KBC business platforms with clients and stakeholders to achieve KBC business objectives.

Prepare RFPs as needed for vendor and contractor services and manage the selection processes.

Guide the client and team through the design implementation process including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documentation and signoff.

Develop and maintain Master Project Schedules and manage the successful execution of projects so that completion falls within intended timeframes.

Develop procedures for distribution, receipt, opening, leveling and award of projects and services.

Facilitate initiation of all critical project meetings and coordination exercises with internal staff, key stakeholders and external users to ensure responsibilities are efficiently, accurately and effectively communicated and understood by all concerned.

Identify, manage and mitigate areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk.

Ensure that the Account Lead is fully and accurately informed of all projects, internal and client issues.

Ensure KBC governance policies and procedures are followed throughout the project life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong competency in driving capital projects and programs.

Ability to negotiate with and influence key stakeholders and client groups.

Knowledge of real estate and account management.

Exhibit financial and accounting acumen.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management

Minimum 7 years of related to project or construction management , preferably in industrial development, exhibiting progressive responsibility and experience.

Past project experience working for a General Contractor in a Project Management role is preferred.

Corporate Real Estate or Project Management experience preferred—experience with industrial assets a plus.

Experience managing a team.
