Matt O'Brien

Seattle

Matt O’Brien began his commercial real estate career in 2003, primarily covering industrial leasing in sales in the greater Seattle region. Matt developed a strong reputation early in his career for providing thoughtful, forward-looking direction to institutional clients on their real estate strategies, backed by market data and historical trends. He was one of the more active brokers in the region and was regularly invited to participate in industry panels and speaking engagements. Prior to joining KBC Advisors, Matt held senior roles at CBRE and JLL, where he was voted the SIOR Washington State Industrial Broker of the year by his peers. Since 2016, Matt has focused exclusively on e-commerce, where he has been one of the most active brokers in the world in terms of transaction volume, building/land scale, and financial consideration. Matt has advised on the conceptualization and implementation of complex operational initiatives and financial structures which have transformed the industrial real estate industry. He communicates frequently on behalf his clients with the most active developers and real estate capital providers in the US and abroad. Matt is a partner at KBC, and has been instrumental in the company’s overall strategy, rapid growth, and expansion into new markets. Prior to Matt’s real estate career, he was a pitcher at Washington State and in the Oakland A’s system, where he was ultimately released from the AAA level in 2004 with an ineffective 0-1 record and a 7.71 ERA. Now, Matt spends his free time working and with his family – wife, Brooke, and three children – Kieran, Brady and Connor.
